:: Ever wonder if it's all for you ? ::

So this Sunday i chose to wake up a little earlier than usual and do some 'admin' on the com.

I come across my cousin Erfian's profile and it actually had a mention of me and project silence with a line from the dope show! :O
Being the glory hog i am, well, yeah okay so like that itself kinda inspired me to do some writing since i obviously haven't been very descriptive or consistent judging from the previous posts. (I still have readers ? :\) It's times like these i wish i could actually be bothered with a tagboard.

Well anyway. It's the last week of BMT and i pass out on the 6th. I get the official posting on the 9th, and i'm still somewhat hopeful on the topic of officership. Like everything else i just don't wanna get my hopes too high.

Oh i bought the first issue of Metal Gear Solid with art from Ashley Wood :D Who owns ?

Yes i know thanks.

Might've cost me 30 odd dollars but hey hey it's worth the soldier dollars and i sure as hell can't wait to get to reading it.

Has anyone caught themselves a good movie of late ? I know i have. Perth : The Geylang Massacre.

Obey Harry Lee. Posted by Picasa

I loved this movie so much because of how horribly rotten and embarassed it made me feel for being able to relate to certain negative elements in the show - from the fucked up son to the drunk clubber. I loved this movie for how repentful it made me feel; but most of all i love this movie for how much it emphasizes that it doesn't make a damned difference whether or not i realize the ugliness or whether i live in ignorance.

Regardless of the personal interpretation i strongly suggest anyone legal (it's an M18 so sorry kiddos) to hurry up and catch the show. Definitely the most beautiful thing i've ever seen in awhile - and allow me to express my angst towards how the local media glorifies this film. Forgive me if i sound overly pro-active and pretentious in doing so, but i find it disturbingly disgusting how this movie is promoted in print and e-media for how 'gory' and 'shockingly violent' it is, which is obviously not the story's main feature.

Even on the big poster on the wall in front of Lido where the Perth poster is - you can tell that the words 'The Geylang Massacre' were just recently plastered on top of the original Perth poster. My take is that there wasn't even supposed to be a bloodbath in the end, but i guess it made for a coherent enough ending. But yes i digress - my point is, don't walk into the cinema expecting to see a pseudo-modernist action flick. I don't care what you make of the movie - but just don't start comparing it to Mortal Kombat or The Ring or whatever. That's just not how it works.

Ok fuck i'm late i have to meet Mervyn so bye.

Have a good Sunday :)
